::PUMPKINDRED::Saturday, I spent several meditative (read: careful, grossed-out, meticulous, and concerted) hours carving this year's pumpkins. They were gifts for hosts of parties I went to that night, and I hereby showcase them.
Here's the Gamecube pumpkin I carved for Heath and Victoria. I've never played with a Gamecube, nor do I know if Heath and Victoria have ever done so, but I've always wanted to carve a pumpkin in the "peel-off-the-skin" kind of way. "What 3-D logos do I know of that I like?" I thought. My initial desire was to carve the
N64 logo, but that would be exceedingly difficult. (Yep, even though I'm not a gamer, I'm a Nintendo loyalist.) Instead, I one-upped that idea (I shiver with how multifaceted that pun is) and decided on the Gamecube logo:
It doesn't really work in the dark; the peeled areas let very little light through.
The next logo I tried was a redux from last year. His excellency, Jeff Koenig, got an iPod Nano and loves it. I honored this love by carving him an Apple-branded jack o' lantern, or "iPump," complete with projecting apple logo on the back:
Here it is in the dark (photo by Jeff):
Oh my gourd, huh?
