::GLEAMING THE CUBE::

I'll be geeking out big time over the next few days.

I get to experience this.

The apex of my existence will be the Caltech Dallas Summer Cubing Tournament hosted at my place of employment on Saturday (for more information, go to Speedcubing.com).

Friday morning, I'll be arriving at work at 5:00 AM (!!!) to yak it up with WFAA's "Why Guy," Mike Castellucci. He'll be playing around with a few competitors, plus Tyson Mao, the Caltech Rubik's Cube Club President. I have to aubade early as hell, but I'll have fun. Keep your eyes peeled for us on Channel 8 Friday morning!

More "dark and early" fun happens Saturday morning. Cubefreak is a documentary about Shotaro "Macky" Makisumi, and I'll be showing up on CBS 11 Saturday morning (between 7:45 and 8:15 AM) with him and Leyan Lo, current world-record-holder for solving the Cube blindfolded. Awesome. Watch.

Saturday's the tournament, and I am anticipating this as I've anticipated very few work assignments. Tyson tells me he can teach me the cube Friday and have me at competition speed by Saturday... too bad I have to be managing the competition!

Come by! It's free to spectate and just $5 to compete with museum admission!
Comments:
Oooh I am SO jealous. You get to meet The Man Macky...well, he's half my age. But still...
I [heart] Cubing.
