At 12:46 AM, a huge crash occurred outside our apartment, waking Austin and me up. Holyshitfuckomigod no, it can't be my new car, I thought.

Nope, not my car, but a cop car. Smack(ed) in the middle of the intersection.

A dozen other DPD cruisers came out. Apparently, the driver who ran the red light and was hit was too drunk to stand. I learned that from a member of a TV crew.
