Keep the Change program wherein they automatically upcharge your debit purchases to the nearest dollar, and the difference goes into your savings account.
This is a
great idea.
But I don't know if people will really understand that the bank's not just giving you the money -- that their debit cards are being charged extra and some creative rerouting is going on. Maybe they have an autodraft protection built in.
If you want to do that, I say just use cash, keep the change, and have a physical and immediate representation of your savings. And avoid those fees.
